£11,381.23.

Yes, £11,381.23!

That is the amount of money that you donated through December to aid local good causes.  And following our first meeting of the year last night, Buckingham Table has already allocated over £1000 of this amount to local good causes that submitted requests in December and early January.  More about this later.

Fund raising isn’t easy.

It takes a great deal of organisation, and a lot of work to visit the estates, villages and towns in the area.  If we missed you, please accept our apologies.  Where we can increase the coverage next season, we will do so (within reason, and resources allowing).

2019 was also the first year that Santa went social, with a live Santa tracker installed on his “sleigh” that enabled residents to follow his progress in real time, and even set up greeting parties ready for his arrival.

Buckingham Table had a lot of help this year, including rounds managed by The Buckingham Rotary, Buckingham Scouts and friends of Grenville School, to name but a few.  In total, we had 26 separate outings, and accounting for the driver, Santa and the collectors on each round, that added up to over 800 hours of voluntary effort.

So thank you once again.

And if you have a good local cause which requires funds, please do get in touch.
