Let’s make no false claims about this.  The next few months are going to be really tough.

Sadly the coming crisis will bring out the worst in some people, but this doesn’t need to be the case.

Calamity brings with it opportunity.

Opportunity to be kind. Opportunity to be compassionate. Opportunity to support and provide for our vulnerable neighbours.

Opportunity to strengthen our community, and let every single person know that, whilst they may be closed off behind locked doors, they are by no means alone.

The Buckingham Table was born to support the Buckingham community, and never before has this been a more important calling.  We are proud to be able to rise to this challenge with will and resource, and will be implementing the following actions immediately.

1. We are reaching out to the community to support financially where we can. If you have a specific Corona related requirement, please contact us via our contact page at https://buckinghamtable.org/contact-us/

2. We are contacting food banks and other groups to offer donations where required. Although this is a national challenge, we will be putting particular emphasis on supporting local organisations.

3. Our members are signing up as volunteers to the Trussel Trust in order to assist with food deliveries to the most vulnerable in our society. If you are reading this, and are healthy and mobile, then we would urge you to do likewise at https://www.trusselltrust.org/get-involved/volunteer or https://www.goodsamapp.org/NHS

Every Christmas, we see the enormous generosity and sacrifice that the good people of Buckingham make for those less fortunate than themselves.  We know firsthand the kindness that exists in every single heart out there, and we look forward to seeing that kindness magnified in this time of need.

Thank you.
